Child’s Consultation with an Ophthalmologist

Clear vision supports your child’s daily well‑being and development.
If you want to ensure that your child’s eyesight is in good condition, we invite you to a consultation with our pediatric ophthalmologist. Eye exams can be done preventively, even if there are no complaints — especially if you notice changes in your child’s vision, eye fatigue, headaches, or difficulties with concentration.

When should you visit an ophthalmologist?

Child Eye Examination by an Ophthalmologist Includes:

  • Checking visual acuity at distance and near;
  • Measuring refraction (if needed — issuing a prescription for glasses);
  • Measuring intraocular pressure (to assess glaucoma risk);
  • Examining the anterior segment of the eye using a slit lamp — evaluating the cornea and lens;
  • If necessary — examining the retina and optic nerve using special pupil-dilating drops to obtain a more complete assessment;
  • Evaluation and recommendations from the ophthalmologist.

How to prepare your child?

To ensure the visit is calm and positive, we recommend explaining to your child in advance that you are going for an eye check-up.
Our consultation is playful, friendly, and designed specifically for children — it’s not scary at all, more like a little adventure.

The examination itself often turns out to be engaging for the child, as they see interesting instruments and perform fun tasks.
If your child does not yet know letters or numbers, it’s not a problem — we use the LEA test, where the child simply names the shapes. There are no wrong answers, and everything proceeds at the child’s pace.

Our goal is for the child to feel comfortable and look forward to their next visit with joy.

Not necessarily. Examinations are age-adapted — for younger children, we use picture-based tests where the child can respond in a way that is comfortable for them.

The visit is conducted calmly, in a playful manner, and tailored to the child’s needs. Our team is experienced in working even with young children and ensures the process is as comfortable as possible.
