See clearly, live freely
Dry eye syndrome is a common condition that causes discomfort and irritation, which can significantly affect quality of life. It occurs due to reduced tear production, rapid tear evaporation, disruption of the tear film composition, or various systemic diseases.
Dry eye syndrome can develop regardless of age or lifestyle.
Rexon-Eye is an innovative method designed to alleviate dry eye syndrome. During the procedure, the patient wears special soft goggles and simply relaxes in a comfortable position. The electric field generated by the goggles stimulates the metabolism of eyelid cells and improves the function of the tear glands. Studies show that 80% of patients experience significant improvement after 4–6 sessions.
Rexon‑Eye therapy is intended for anyone experiencing dry eye symptoms such as dryness, irritation, burning, redness, or eye fatigue. It is especially beneficial for those who experience dryness after a laser procedure or suffer from chronic dry eye syndrome (for example, in Sjögren’s syndrome). The therapy is not suitable for pregnant women, infants, people with implants, or those undergoing cancer treatment.
Dry eye treatment consists of three well-structured stages, designed to diagnose the problem, provide an effective solution, and ensure lasting results.
During the consultation, a dry eye questionnaire is completed and the moisture level of the eyes is assessed. We perform two important tests:
*NIBUT measurement (Non‑Invasive Break-Up Time): This test determines how long the tear film remains evenly spread across the surface of the eye. It helps assess whether the tear film breaks up too quickly. In a healthy eye, the tear film lasts at least 10 seconds, while in dry eyes it often breaks in just 5 seconds.
*Meibography: Using an infrared camera, we examine the condition of the Meibomian glands in the eyelids. If these glands are blocked or damaged, the tear film cannot stay properly on the eye surface, causing rapid dryness.
These contact‑free tests allow us to accurately map the condition of your eyes and choose the most effective treatment plan.
In the second stage, Rexon‑Eye therapy begins:
The client sits comfortably in a chair and wears a soft eye‑mask with built‑in electrodes for the eyelids. The mask delivers gentle electrical impulses through the eyelids, softly stimulating the glands and improving the quality of the tear film.
*The procedure lasts approximately 20 minutes.
*A total of 4 sessions are performed — one per week over 4 weeks.
This treatment helps restore the balance of both the lipid and aqueous layers of the tear film.
About a month after the last Rexon‑Eye session, you will be invited for a follow‑up visit with the optometrist.
*We will perform new measurements and repeat the dry eye questionnaire to assess the effectiveness of the treatment.
*If needed, we will provide further recommendations to help maintain the results.
A single session lasts approximately 20–40 minutes, depending on the condition of your eyes and the treatment plan.
A typical treatment course consists of 4–6 sessions, after which around 80 % of patients experience noticeable relief from symptoms.
Yes, Rexon‑Eye therapy is completely painless and comfortable. Many patients describe it as a relaxing procedure.
The therapy is suitable for most patients with dry eye syndrome. However, it is not recommended for pregnant women, young children, patients undergoing active cancer treatment, or people with pacemakers.
For many patients, the effects last several months, though in some cases a repeat course or maintenance care may be needed.
