Eye Examinations for Pregnant and Breastfeeding Women

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we can perform a comprehensive eye examination to assess whether you may be eligible for the Flow3 laser procedure in the future. The purpose of the examination is to provide an initial evaluation of your eyes and collect the necessary data for planning the procedure

What’s included?

The Flow3 eye examination is one of the most detailed in Estonia. We analyze thousands of vision parameters to determine whether the non-contact laser procedure is suitable for your eyes.

1. Corneal topography and tomography (various corneal parameters)
2. Corneal thickness measurement (pachymetry)
3. Measurement of anterior chamber depth and iris angle
4. Determination of cross- (Kappa) angle
5. Corneal diameter
6. Lens transparency assessment (Scheimpflug camera)
7. Pupil size measurement in the dark
8. Keratometry (measurement of corneal curvature)
9. Non-invasive break-up time (NIBUT) — test for dry eyes

1. Macular OCT
2. Optic nerve head analysis
3. Retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness
4. Central macular thickness (CMT)
5. Foveal contour and structure assessment
6. Ganglion cell complex (GCC)
7. Retinal cross-section imaging
8. Vitreoretinal interface / posterior vitreous membrane assessment
9. Choroidal layer imaging

1. Distance and near visual acuity assessment
2. Subjective refraction
3. Duochrome test (red–green)
4. Stereopsis tests (e.g., Titmus test)
5. Dominant eye test
6. Color vision test (Ishihara plates)
7. Binocular vision test (Worth 4-dot test)
8. Binocular vision balance test (field boundary test)
9. Phoria tests (Sheard test)

2. Cover and alternate cover test
3. Light reflex test
4. Slit-lamp examination of the anterior segment
5. Assessment of eyelids, eyelashes, tear film, and conjunctiva
6. Evaluation of contact lens use effects

1. Objective refraction
2. Keratometry
3. Central pachymetry
4. Intraocular pressure measurement

1. Eye health questionnaire (previous surgeries, injuries, contact lens use, allergies, medications, family history of eye diseases)

The Flow3 eye examination is designed for adults aged 18–45 who wear minus glasses or contact lenses with a prescription up to –9 diopters. The examination provides a detailed assessment of your vision and suitability for the procedure.

If something was unclear...

How long does the examination take?

The examination takes approximately 45 minutes, during which a detailed, step-by-step vision assessment is performed..

The results are analyzed on-site, and the optometrist will provide you with immediate feedback.
If the procedure is suitable, it can be scheduled only after at least 4 months have passed since the end of breastfeeding

We recommend eating before your visit to ensure comfort. If you wear contact lenses, do not use them for 24 hours before the examination and come wearing glasses.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding hormonally affect the eyes and can cause temporary changes in vision. Therefore, we recommend waiting at least 4 months after finishing breastfeeding to allow the eyes to stabilize, ensuring accurate and long-lasting results. The eye examination, however, can be done earlier — it provides valuable information to help you assess at home whether laser correction may be suitable.
