See clearly, live freely
Good vision in childhood impacts academic performance, the ability to concentrate, and overall quality of life. An eye check-up at KSA is a simple and comfortable way to make sure your child’s eyes are healthy — or to intervene in time if needed.
A children’s eye examination is the first step to ensuring that vision supports your child’s development and well-being at any age. As part of KSA’s comprehensive eye check-up, up to 8 different tests are performed to assess optical power, visual acuity, intraocular pressure, the condition of the cornea and retina, as well as visual functions
Measurement of eye refraction (optical power, refractometry)
Assessment of visual acuity at distance and near (with and without glasses)
Measurement of intraocular pressure (tonometry, if needed)
Tests of visual functions (color vision, spatial vision, coordination, assessment of strabismus)
Visual examination of the eyes (movement, pupil reactions, symmetry)
Prescription of glasses, if needed
All examinations for 2.5 – 5 year olds + additionally:
Evaluation of corneal parameters (corneal topography)
Fundus and optic nerve examinations (optical coherence tomography or OCT)
We invite children aged 2.5–17 years for comprehensive eye examinations. We carry out thorough vision tests to identify children whose eyesight does not meet age-appropriate standards. In cases of deviations or concerns, we refer the child to a specialist if necessary.
To ensure a calm and positive visit, we recommend explaining to your child in advance that they are going for an eye check.
Our appointment is playful, friendly, and specially designed for children — it’s not scary at all, more like a little adventure.
The examination itself often turns out to be fun for the child, as they get to see interesting instruments and complete engaging tasks.
If your child doesn’t yet know letters or numbers, that’s not a problem — we use the LEA test, where the child simply names the shapes. There are no wrong answers, and everything proceeds at the child’s pace.
Our goal is for the child to feel comfortable and look forward to their next visit with joy.
The first eye examination is recommended at 2.5–3 years of age. If everything is normal, we advise check-ups every 1–2 years, or more frequently if recommended by the doctor.
If necessary, eye drops may be used to dilate the pupils, allowing more accurate measurement of the eyes’ refractive properties.
Yes, children’s eyes and vision continue to develop as they grow, which is why regular check-ups are very important.
The optometrist or ophthalmologist will explain whether glasses need to be worn constantly or only in specific situations, such as when reading or doing schoolwork.
Vision issues may be related to heredity, the anatomical structure of the eye, or heavy visual load, such as prolonged time spent on screens.
Vision affects your child’s learning, concentration, and confidence.
