Safety and procedure suitability

Why is a comprehensive eye examination necessary before a laser procedure?

A thorough examination provides hundreds of precise measurements, allowing us to assess the condition of your eyes and ensure the procedure is both safe and effective.

No, laser procedures are not suitable for all patients. We carry out a detailed pre-selection process to minimise risks and ensure the best possible results.

We only operate on patients for whom the expected outcome is the highest possible, reducing the likelihood of needing additional procedures in the future.

A complete diagnosis helps prevent surgery on unsuitable eyes, minimises the risk of complications, and ensures a faster, smoother recovery.

Technology and equipment

Pentacam HR

What information does Pentacam HR provide for doctors and optometrists?

Pentacam HR measures the thickness, shape, and internal structure of the cornea, creating a precise 3D map. This helps evaluate corneal health and detect possible conditions at an early stage.

Less than two seconds. It is completely contact-free and comfortable for the patient.

Thanks to its high precision and resolution, the device can reveal even the smallest irregularities in the cornea’s structure, helping to prevent risks before surgery.

Schwind Sirius

What is Schwind Sirius used for?

Schwind Sirius is an advanced diagnostic device that measures the properties of the eye and cornea in 3D, enabling us to create a personalized treatment plan for each patient.

It combines a rotating Scheimpflug camera with a corneal topographer to produce a precise 3D image with more than 100,000 measurement points.

The device accurately describes the morphology and stage of keratoconus, helping doctors choose the most effective treatment strategy.

Pupillometry measures pupil size and reaction under different lighting conditions. This is important for collecting the data needed to plan a precise and safe laser procedure.

FAQ

Is the Flow3 procedure painful? I’m afraid of having my eyes touched.

Flow3 is completely painless because the laser never touches your eye. You may only feel slight pressure, see bright light, and notice cool liquids used by the surgeon. Most patients say they were pleasantly surprised at how easy and comfortable the experience was.

Flow3 is incision-free and highly precise, which means the risks are minimal. All vision correction is performed through laser reshaping, without cuts. Even in the unlikely event of a power outage, our powerful UPS ensures the laser continues seamlessly. The key to a successful outcome is following the recovery instructions carefully during the first week.

The results last for decades because the removed portion of the cornea does not grow back. However, vision can change later in life due to factors such as aging, hormones, or health conditions.

Flow3 is an investment that pays for itself quickly – over a lifetime, glasses, contact lenses, and care products can cost more than €15,000. Flow3 typically pays for itself within 3–4 years. We also offer flexible payment options starting from €50 per month.

While your vision may be good enough right after the procedure, it can fluctuate during the first days. We recommend waiting about a week until your vision is stable and clear.

We do not recommend it. Hormonal changes can affect your vision and the final outcome. The best time is about three months after you finish breastfeeding, when your eyes have stabilised.
