Loora-Eliise Kaarelson: Laser eye surgery was one of the best decisions of my life
Loora-Eliise Kaarelson is a singer whose talent shines both on big stages and on television. She has appeared in the TV series “Reetur” (“Traitor”) and the film “Tõde ja õigus” (“Truth and Justice”), and her vocal skills won the hearts of viewers through the show “Eesti otsib superstaari” (“Estonia’s Got Talent/Superstar”). Every week, she performs across Estonia with her musical duo Loora & Kauro Duo. Yet behind all these achievements, there has been one major challenge — myopia, which has made her already active and hectic schedule even more demanding.
Wearing contact lenses became exhausting
Loora-Eliise has worn glasses for more than half of her life, and with her –5 dioptres, she often relied on contact lenses both in everyday life and during performances. While lenses initially seemed like a convenient solution, over time they became increasingly tiring for her eyes. This was especially noticeable during busy performance periods, when her schedule was intense and her eyes had no chance to rest from the lenses. All of this led to dryness and eye fatigue — a serious obstacle for an artist who wants to shine on stage and connect with her audience.

She recalls a humorous moment on a cold winter day when she decided to give her eyes a short break from lenses between performances. But when she stepped from the freezing outdoors into a warm room, her glasses instantly fogged up — and the frame suddenly cracked in half. This unexpected event forced Loora-Eliise to rethink her plans, and she had to wear contact lenses non-stop for the next two weeks while waiting for new glasses.

The decision that changed it all
Loora-Eliise had dreamed of laser eye surgery for a long time, but due to changing prescription values, she had to wait until this spring. To her joy, her latest Flow eye examination showed that her vision had finally stabilised — which meant she could undergo the procedure right away. She didn’t hesitate — she wanted to enjoy the upcoming summer with perfect vision and meet all performances and adventures with confidence. “Will I really be able to swim this summer without everything looking foggy?” she wondered.

Recovery and a new quality of life
Even though she had prepared for a full two-week rest, Loora-Eliise was surprised by how fast she healed. By the fourth day after the procedure she already felt great — so great that she had to hold herself back from doing too much. By the eighth day, she was fully back to her usual routine, enjoying the brighter, sharper world around her.
“Have you all really been seeing everything this sharply all along?” she laughed, amazed by the clarity of her new vision.
A life-changing impact: confidence and a clearer world
“I feel like the world has become so much more detailed and beautiful after the laser procedure!” she says. Correcting her vision brought another unexpected gift — a major boost in confidence. “Of course no one on the outside notices anything different, but for me, everything feels easier and more enjoyable, and I absolutely love it,” Loora-Eliise shares. These changes have inspired her to take on new challenges and enjoy every moment to the fullest — without vision problems getting in the way.
“I encourage everyone to consider correcting their vision, because honestly, those few temporary inconveniences are 100% worth the result. Life becomes completely different — easier and of much higher quality — when your vision is clear. There’s really nothing to be afraid of, and I wholeheartedly recommend the Flow3 procedure to anyone who has ever thought about fixing their eyesight. The KSA team did everything to make the experience pleasant and comfortable. It’s amazing that such a safe option exists today — and it is truly one of the best decisions I have ever made,” Loora-Eliise says to all glasses-wearers.
