Born in Tartu, Dr. Tillmann spent part of his youth in England and completed his secondary education at an international school in Thailand. This multicultural environment gave him a broad worldview and excellent communication skills. He later graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tartu and completed his residency in ophthalmology at Tartu University Hospital. He has gained professional experience both in Estonia and Finland, practicing in Tartu, Tallinn, Võru, Helsinki, Kotka, and Lappeenranta. In vision correction, Dr. Tillmann uses the most advanced and patient-friendly methods, including Flow3 and SmartSurfACE laser technologies, which offer comfort and rapid recovery. As a technology enthusiast, he closely follows the development of AI applications in healthcare, seeing great potential for improving diagnostic accuracy and enabling more personalized treatment. He regularly attends international conferences and trainings to stay up to date with the latest developments in ophthalmology. Since 2019, Dr. Tillmann has been a member of the Estonian Society of Ophthalmologists and an active member of the ESCRS, reflecting his dedication to continuous professional growth and innovation. Outside of medicine, Dr. Tillmann is passionate about sports and has practiced karate for many years. This discipline has taught him focus and perseverance—values he applies every day in his medical practice.
